I stand there, waiting, to catch a glimpse of her,
Whilst she waves those last good byes for the night.
The night never seemed to have ended,
As I take with me, many moments to reminisce about,
Each distinctly reminding me of her addictive smile.
Through the time, her eyes were wide open,
And shimmering much similar to the crystalline pendant
Adorning her neck which was slender as that of a golden Mynah.
Not even a shot of absinthe and a glass of berried rum
Could make her wit any less scintillating,
And her walk any less graceful in the narrow alleys of Haji lane.
As I nibbled on the hole-less doughnuts from OverEasy,
I felt sweet sensations;
And I couldn't decide if they were instead due to her mellow voice.
All things under the moon light appeared to connect our philosophies.
We spoke about the past, about souls, and about the serpents
That manifest change through the duality of life and death.
Her art was as intriguing as her world- warm, subtle and unfeigned.
I stood there, waiting, to catch a glimpse of her,
Whilst she waved those first hellos for the night;
The night that was about to begin and be ephemeral.
Whilst she waves those last good byes for the night.
The night never seemed to have ended,
As I take with me, many moments to reminisce about,
Each distinctly reminding me of her addictive smile.
